Are Your Hands Properly Placed On Your Steering Wheel?

Rusty Sain's Blog | Are Your Hands Properly Placed On Your Steering Wheel?

We are taught how to place our hands early on in life when we began driving a vehicle.

However, through habit, we change the way we drive and can hold the steering wheel incorrectly, but let's focus on how to properly place your hands on the steering wheel.

Do not grip the steering wheel tightly. Be sure to have your seat positioned properly as you hang your hand over the top of the steering wheel.

So no, you do not need to wrap your hands around tightly, in fact, make sure your fingers and thumbs do not touch in the grip, and have your fingers placed at the top of the wheel.

If not, and there is a collision, you could hurt damage your hands quite badly. Therefore, relax your grip and always be safe out there!
